I am a first-generation Latino graduate student pursing my Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Arizona. My academic journey began at Arizona Western College before transferring to the University of Arizona where I got my undergraduate degrees and postbaccalaureate research training. Through my research program and clinical practice, I aim to assess the impact of stress on non-communicable disease outcomes, while promoting health equity and health quality of life through behavioral medicine intervention science.

Research Interests:

  • Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine: Investigating the pathways through which stress contributes to adverse non-communicable disease outcomes, with a focus on cardiometabolic health.
  • Psychosocial Determinants of Health Disparities: Examining the psychosocial factors that increase vulnerability to non-communicable diseases, particularly within marginalized communities, aiming to develop targeted behavioral interventions.
  • Intervention Science for Health Equity: Designing and implementing evidence-based interventions to mitigate health disparities, promote inclusivity in healthcare delivery, and enhance overall well-being
