Study Description:
Participants will complete temporal and spatial estimation tasks while their brain activity is recorded using EEG to help us better understand learning and self-evaluation processes. The study will take place in the Psychology building at the University of Arizona, and the researcher will be happy to share more detailed location and scheduling information if you are interested.
Procedure:
The study takes approximately 3 hours to complete:
- The first hour mainly involves experiment preparation, including EEG setup and the gelling process, during which participants can relax or work on their own activities.
- The remaining two hours involve completing computer-based tasks.
The EEG Procedure:
- To prepare for the session, we ask that participants avoid using hair conditioner the day before the appointment if possible.
- During the session, participants will be wearing a cap with small sensors/electrodes, and a small amount of gel will be applied to the hair to help record brain signals accurately. *Participants will have the opportunity to wash the gel out after the study.
*The study and EEG procedure are completely noninvasive.
Eligibility:
To participate in this study, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Healthy adults aged 18-35 are eligible to participate
Compensation:
Compensation is $20 per hour, for a total of $60.
