Memory Training Study

Memory Training Study

The Human Spatial Cognition Lab (HSCL) at the University of Arizona is recruiting participants for a research study on memory training and brain activity. This study aims to examine how different ways of memorizing words affect memory and the human brain.

Procedure:

Participation involves up to 21 sessions over approximately 2 months (1 hour for each session).

  • Participants will be trained in 2 different strategies for memorizing words.
  • They will then complete memory tasks while undergoing MRI scanning on our main campus.

  • Must be between the ages of 18-35 years old.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Must have normal or corrected-to-normal vision.
  • Must be healthy and pass an MRI eligibility screening.
  • Must not have previously participated in a similar word-memory or memory-strategy task in the Human Spatial Cognition Lab, or similar task in other labs.

Compensation:

Participants will be compensated $450 - $500 for their time and effort.
