Virtual Supermarket Memory Performance Study 

The Human Spatial Cognition Lab (HSCL) at the University of Arizona is recruiting participants for a study that aims to compare memory performance between age groups while shopping in a virtual supermarket.

Procedure:

  • The study takes between 1-2 hours.
  • Participants will be trained on a shopping list of items
    • Participants will then recall the places where they initially retrieved the items by returning them to the shelves (restocking).
  • This will repeat in various different supermarket environments.

Participant Eligibility:

To participate in this study, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Must be between 18-35 years of age OR 65-80 years of age.
  • Must be able to walk and stand comfortably for up to 2 hours while wearing VR equipment.
*Comfortable clothing and shoes recommended.
 

Compensation:

Participants will be paid $20 per hour. Total experiment time is between 1-2 hours.
