Virtual Reality Mobility and Wayfinding Study

The Cognition and Brain Aging Laboratory is recruiting healthy young adults (18–30 years) and older adults (65–80 years) for a research study examining how people use body-based movement to estimate direction and position in a virtual reality (VR) environment.
This study involves a single visit lasting approximately 2 hours.

Procedure:

  • Participants will wear a virtual reality headset and move through simple virtual spaces while performing guided movement tasks. 
  • One session (~2 hours)
  • Light walking required
  • *Comfortable clothing recommended

Eligibility:

To participate in this study, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Ages 18–35 or 65–85
  • Normal or corrected-to-normal vision
  • Able to walk comfortably for extended periods while wearing VR equipment

Compensation:

You will be compensated at a rate of $20 per hour. Total experimental time is approximately 2 hours for a total of $40 maximum.
