Linda Hollis
As a Gerontologist, my teaching is grounded with the intention of equipping students not only with strong content knowledge but also with practical skills, empathy, and the confidence needed to thrive as professionals and advocates for older adults. Through purposeful asynchronous, online course design, student empowerment, and experiential learning, I strive to create educational experiences that are deeply relevant, personally transformative, and socially impactful. In 2025, I was awarded the Excellence in Educational Advancement Award.
Research Interests:
While I am not currently conducting research, my prior work has focused on human–animal bonding and Alzheimer’s disease. I continue to review Manuscripts for The Gerontologist, Innovations in Aging, and Gerontology and Geriatric Education. I support students' Honors Theses on topics including - Perceptions of Aging; Alzheimer’s Disease: Global Approaches to Care; and Alzheimer’s Disease: The Impact on Unpaid Caregivers and Strategies for Systemic Support.
