Spatial Memory in Virtual Reality Study
The Human Spatial Cognition Laboratory is recruiting healthy young (18 – 30 years) adults to study spatial memory abilities in a naturalistic setting using immersive virtual reality (VR).
Procedure:
The spatial memory task involves remembering locations of objects across different perspectives. Participants complete one session lasting approximately 2 hours.
The task is completed using an immersive VR headset. We will record your eye movements to study how specific patterns of eye movements relate to spatial memory abilities. Additionally, this session involves some light walking to examine how moving through space influences spatial memory.
Participant Eligibility:
To participate in this study, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Between 18 – 30 years of age
- Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (preferably with contacts, but please reach out if you wear glasses and would still like to participate).
- No color-blindness.
Compensation:
Participants complete one session lasting 2 hours. You will be compensated at a rate of $20 per hour, for a total of $40.
