The OHAIRE Lab is looking for undergraduate research assistants for the for the Fall 2024 semester, with a possibility to stay on longer. *There are 2 types of assistant opportunities students may apply for!
DEADLINE: May 15th, 2024
General RA:
- NO PREVIOUS RESEARCH EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! But excellent attention to detail & organization skills are needed.
- RAs will work closely with the project coordinator, as well as graduate students and other undergraduates.
- RAs will have the opportunity to assist with ongoing projects - the largest project being a research study evaluating the effects of service dogs for veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Students should be interested in:
- The general functioning of a productive research group
- Science communication
- Human-animal interaction
Data-Focused RA:
- RAs will work with a graduate student mentor to complete and present a poster at an undergraduate research symposium.
- Gain experience applying your classroom or self-taught skills in a research setting
- Help make a difference in the lives of veterans with PTSD, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their families!
- *Preferred - students with proficiency in R and willingness to learn other statistical programming languages
Compensation (Both RAs):
Students will have the option to choose between being paid or earning research credits toward their degree (applicable to the Directed Research requirement for Psychological Science majors).
- Credit Option - Students will be expected to work 10 hours per week (equivalent to 3 credit hours)
- Paid Option - Students can work between 10-20 hours/week with pay starting at $15.00/hour.
