Matthew Grilli, PhD (he/him)

Associate Professor, Psychology, The University of Arizona
Dr. Matthew Grilli is a licensed neuropsychologist and the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) at the University of Arizona. He is a member of the Clinical and Cognition & Neural Systems programs. His background is in clinical neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience. At the University of Arizona, he directs the Human Memory Lab, the neuropsychology training and general clinical training for the PhD clinical psychology program, and directs the assessment services at the BHC.
Jolene Jacquart, PhD (she/her)

Assistant Clinical Professor, Psychology, The University of Arizona
Dr. Jolene Jacquart is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and related concerns using evidence-based treatments including CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based interventions. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and her predoctoral internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Jacquart is also involved in clinical research and her broad research interests are in understanding the mechanisms, dosing, and adherence of treatment and augmentation strategies for anxiety and depressive disorders. She is also passionate about research aimed at improving clinical training and dissemination of evidence-based treatments.
Zachary Cohen, PhD (he/him)
Assistant Professor, Psychology, The University of Arizona
Dr. Zachary Cohen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona and the Director of the Personalized Treatment Lab. Having worked with leading treatment developers including Drs. Michelle Craske, Robert DeRubeis, Steven Hollon, and Edna Foa, Dr. Cohen’s work focuses on understanding what works for whom and developing precision and personalized psychotherapeutic treatment approaches.
Julie Feldman, PhD (she/her)
Professor of Practice, Psychology, The University of Arizona
Julie Feldman is a licensed clinical psychologist in Arizona since 2002. Dr. Feldman directs the Life Skills Training and Enhancement program (LifeSTEP) for undergraduates providing skills training and mentorship services to youth with emotional and behavior problems and coordinates the Clinical Psychology externship program. Dr. Feldman’s primary role in the BHC is teaching the psychosocial intervention sequence to second-year clinical psychology PhD students and acting as a consultant and backup supervisor for BHC cases. Her clinical interests are in the areas of anxiety and depression.
David Sbarra, PhD (he/him)
Professor, Psychology, The University of Arizona
Dr. David Sbarra is a licensed clinical psychologist in Arizona and served for a decade as the Director of Clinical Training in our Clinical Program. Dr. Sbarra maintains a small psychotherapy practice in Tucson where he specializes in evidence-based training for individual adults and couples. Dr. Sbarra has taught graduate-level seminars in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Ethics for Psychologists. He is the former President of the Academy for Psychological Clinical Science, a professional society dedicated to promoting science-based graduate-level training in clinical psychology.
Laura Schnaps, PhD (she/her)
Designated Campus Colleague, The University of Arizona
Dr. Laura Schnaps is a licensed clinical psychologist in full-time private practice in Tucson. Dr. Schnaps works with children, families, adults and couples treating a range of clinical issues including anxiety, depression, trauma and eating disorders. Over the past 13 years, Dr. Schnaps has specialized in working with couples and families using EFT and EFFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy.) EFT is an evidence-based model of psychotherapy. Dr. Schnaps has completed an intensive training program in EFT, including an externship and multiple Core Skills trainings. She has also served as the President and Chair of the Arizona Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy for 6 years and is currently the Immediate Past President and Chair. In this capacity she has served as a role play leader at many trainings in EFT, training clinicians at every level to learn this model of therapy. Dr. Schnaps has been providing supervision to graduate students in the Clinical Psychology Department at the University of Arizona for many years.
Daniel Taylor, PhD (he/him)
Professor, Psychology, The University of Arizona
Dr. Daniel Taylor is a licensed psychologist and board-certified in both Sleep Medicine and Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Dr. Taylor is an expert in cognitive behavioral therapy of insomnia (CBTi) particularly when comorbid with other disorders (e.g., depression, PTSD, medical problems). He completed his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Memphis and his predoctoral internship at Brown University Medical School in Clinical Health Psychology. Dr. Taylor is heavily involved in clinical research (see insomnia.arizona.edu/research) and his broad research interests are in understanding the mechanisms, dosing, and adherence of treatment and augmentation strategies for insomnia and other behavioral sleep disorders. He is also passionate about research aimed at improving clinical training and dissemination of evidence-based treatments.

Anna is the administrative assistant for the Clinical Psychology Area and provides administrative assistance to the BHC.
Dehana Moss (she/her)
Lead Clinical Assistant
Dehana has recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her academic interest lies in the study and practice of behavioral health. Her goal is
to pursue a PsyD in behavioral health in the hope of creating more opportunities for those in need. Her hobbies include baking, reading, and going on adventures with her dogs.
Joseph Fraire (he/him)
Lead Clinical Assistant
Joseph Fraire is a senior undergraduate at the University of Arizona double majoring in Psychological Sciences and Neuroscience & Cognitive Science with an emphasis in Neurobiology. Joesph plans on becoming a clinical psychologist in the future as he is interested in researching neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD and ASD. In his free time he loves playing music and currently drums for a local indie band
called Desert Child.
Carmen Valdez (she/her)
Clinical Assistant
Carmen Valdez is currently a senior studying psych science. She currently works with kids with autism and helps them build functional, cognitive, and communication skills. In her downtime, Carmen enjoys reading books and spending time with her friends. She hopes to someday get a PhD in clinical psychology and continue to work with children.
Mallory Johnson (she/her)

Mallory Johnson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona about 5 years ago. Some of her favorite things to do are workout, hangout with her family, and try new restaurants! She is in her last year of college at The University of Arizona, and she is studying Psychological Science. After Mallory graduates, she plans on going to graduate school to earn a Masters in Psychology.
Olivia Tait (she/her)
Clinical Assistant
Olivia Tait is a senior undergraduate at the University of Arizona majoring in Psychological Sciences with a minor in Human Development and Family Science. Through the University of Arizona, she is earning a certification in Insights into Healthy Aging, focusing primarily on the psychology of older adults. With experience working in a memory care facility, as well as her certification, Olivia wants to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist focusing mainly on Alzheimer’s Disease and helping older individuals, as well as their loved ones. In her free time, Olivia loves to go on adventures with her friends, travel, and participate in events within her sorority.
