There is a weekly distribution of a lot of interesting events and materials through the Postdoctoral Affairs listserv: psypostdoc@list.arizona.edu
UArizona Postdoctoral Affairs was created to support postdoctoral scholars and to support faculty in their role as postdoctoral mentors. We do this by:
- Assisting with the transition and arrival to the university through orientations and website resources;
- Keeping postdoctoral scholars apprised of relevant events through a calendar and an opt-in listserv;
- Providing professional development opportunities through in-person and web-based workshops, small group discussions, a professional development certificate, and personal consultations with the Director of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Career Counselor;
- Offering intramural funding and award opportunities for postdocs;
- Supporting faculty in their role as postdoctoral mentors;
- Working to build community among postdoctoral scholars;
- Celebrating the work of postdoctoral scholars on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- Serving as advocates for postdoctoral scholars and serving as a liason between the postdoctoral community and the university administration;
- Helping prepare postdoctoral scholars for the next steps in their career, whether it be in academia, industry, government, or other settings.
You can visit their website for additional resources on grant applications and writings, fellowships, conferences and symposiums, job application and interview preparations, and more!
