Psychology Student Receives Fellowship Award
Daniel Hernandez, graduate student within the Clinical program of the Psychology Department, has been selected as recipient of the 2024-2025 Peter W Likins Graduate Fellowship Award.
The fellowship is a permanent endowment in honor of the 18th President of the University of Arizona, Peter "Pete" Likins. To be awarded, the student must be a current graduate student in their 1st or 2nd year, be nominated by their department, and have overcome substantial adversity to be accepted for admission (due to circumstances of whatever nature) and demonstrated successful academic progress in their graduate program.
As a first-generation Latino graduate student, Daniel aims to assess the impact of stress on non-communicable disease outcomes while promoting health equity and health quality of life through behavioral medicine intervention science. He was also previously awarded the Kathryn A. Governal Perseverance Award in 2021. These and other credentials made him an outstanding candidate when selecting a recipient for the award.
Congratulations, Daniel!
