Dr. Melissa Flores Receives 2022 Galileo Circle Postdoc Award

Dr. Melissa Flores, a postdoctoral scholar in Psychology, completed her Ph.D. in 2018 in Family Studies and Human Development at the University of Arizona. Dr. Flores has been awarded a National Institutes of Health Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) grant to improve cardiovascular disease prediction in U.S. Hispanic populations. She hopes to understand factors that increase or protect against the negative effects of health disparities on cardiovascular disease. Dr. Flores uses novel advanced quantitative methods to capture and model complex social environments. She is an enthusiastic mentor who is strengthening the academic pipeline for diverse students.
