We are pleased to share the news that Dr. Lynn Nadel has been awarded the prestigious 2024 George A. Miller Prize in Cognitive Neuroscience by the Cognitive Neuroscience Society.

This prize is awarded to a researcher whose career is “characterized by distinguished and sustained scholarship” and whose research “has revolutionized cognitive neuroscience”. Dr. Nadel specializes in memory, and has investigated the role of the hippocampus in memory formation. The Society is highlighting his work "Hippocampus: Action at a Distance", which states that hippocampal formation provides the core of a context-based memory system that enables actions at both spatial and temporal removes by creating representations of context, or "cognitive maps".
