Researchers at the UA Cognitive Neuroscience of Language (CNL) Lab are looking for high school students that are 14-17 years old to participate in a study investigating how we learn scientific concepts.

Procedure:

This study includes 2 lessons using a personal or school computer in which the instructor will explain to you the meaning of important concepts from different areas of biology. These concepts are applied to 2 assessment sessions carried out online. 

Study Timeline:

  • Day 1 - Pre-Training Assessment (1 hour)
  • Day 2 - Lesson #1 (1 hour)
  • Day 3 - Lesson #2 (1 hour) 
  • Day 3 or 4 - Post-Training Assessment (1 hour)

Participant Eligibility:

To participate in this study, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Current high school student

  • Age 14-17

  • Stable internet access, Zoom access

Compensation:

Participants that complete the study will receive a $49 Amazon e-gift card for their time.
