We accept applications for admission to our graduate program for the fall term each year. Students are accepted directly into the Ph.D. program, but complete a Master’s degree on route to their Ph.D. We are strongly committed to a diverse graduate education, and encourage applications from underrepresented minority groups. Please note, we do not offer a Terminal Master's in Psychology.

How to Apply
OPEN Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are currently being accepted. Complete your applications by December 1, 2024.
*The Department of Psychology accepts applications for admissions to graduate program study for only the Fall term each year. The application process is entirely electronic through the UA Graduate College website and will be available in October.
The application process will consist of (1) an online application to the Graduate College, and (2) the Psychology departmental requirements.

- We do not accept applications for Spring admissions - all terms will begin in the Fall semester.
Graduate Program Timeline
October 15th - December 1st
Submit your application to the graduate program through the University of Arizona Graduate College.
December 1st - January
Once the Admissions Committee has evaluated applications, the Department will extend an invitation to a small set of prospective applicants for interviews.
February
Interview Days: During your interview, you will meet faculty, students and staff, explore our state-of-the-art facilities, gain first-hand insight into our state-of-the-art research programs, and learn about beautiful southern Arizona.
March-April
If you are accepted into the graduate program, a formal letter of admission, including details of financial support, will be sent to you. You have until April 15 of the current year to accept this offer of admission.
*In an effort to provide clarity to those waiting, Psychology will also send notice of refusals to close your application in this round of submissions.
August
New graduate students arrive at The University of Arizona for orientation and the start of graduate studies.
