News - Roberta Brinton Named Alumni of the Year

Every year, the University of Arizona recognizes a group of alumni for their achievements, public service, advocacy for education, volunteerism as well as their service to students, the colleges and the university. This year, Roberta Brinton is being honored as Alumni of the Year for the College of Science. Roberta is a three-time graduate of the University of Arizona - including a BA in Psychology in 1979 - and today she is one of the university’s most distinguished research leaders.

Roberta is among those rare scientists who advance their research from basic science discovery all the way through to important clinical trials. Her research on Alzheimer’s disease has led to critical insights into the causes of the disease as well as cutting-edge therapeutics to treat it. At the Center for Innovation in Brain Science, she leads an innovative hybrid academic/biotech research ecosystem that supports multiple levels of research.

Congratulations, Dr. Brinton!
