I am a graduate student working in Dr. Wilson's lab where we are applying a neurocomputational approach to the study of decision making with a focus on the explore vs exploit dilemma and cost/value of control. I have completed years one and two of medical school as part of an MD/PhD and have a background working as an RN in the cardiovascular ICU prior to medical school. I am interested in the nature of self-control and how the many pieces of our lives come together to produce patterns of behavior and mental representations. I am especially interested in elements that are historically difficult to quantify such as emotion. I hope to contribute to improvements in cognitive behavioral therapies for patients and machine learning in AI.
