Kelly is a Clinical Psychology doctoral candidate under the mentorship of Drs. Matthias Mehl and David Sbarra. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish with comprehensive honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Arizona. Her research involves a multi-method approach to studying how couples cope with chronic illness and how relationship processes affect health over time (and vice versa). Her research employs linguistic analysis, observational, and naturalistic methodologies in both laboratory and real-world settings.
