Psy 694D Clinical Neuropsychology
This clinical neuropsychology practicum intended to provide the advanced clinical psychology graduate student with practical instruction and experience in neuropsychological assessment. Students participating in this practicum will receive exposure to a range of neuropsychological assessment problems and instruments, through both classroom presentation and direct clinical assessment experience.
Psy 694E Motivational Interviewing: A Clinical-Research Practicum
This practicum will focus on a therapy approach called Motivational Interviewing. In the practicum, students will have readings on the foundations of motivational interviewing, and on the clinical and research aspects of the approach. Psy 696B Biological Bases of Behavior
This seminar provides a broad introduction to the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of the human nervous system. It will cover basic neurophysiology, the anatomy of the nervous system, functional neuroanatomy and neurological disorders.
Psy 696C Cognitive and Affective Bases of Behavior
This seminar is designed to provide clinical graduate students the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate substantial understanding of and competence in the current body of knowledge in cognitive and affective bases of behavior.
Psy 696D Human Development Across the Life Span
This seminar is designed to provide clinical graduate students the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate substantial understanding of and competence in the current body of knowledge in mainstream Developmental Psychology Across the Life Span. We will cover human development taking a life span approach and discuss topics in child, adolescent, and adult development.
Psy 696S Social Psychological Bases of Behavior
This seminar is designed to provide clinical graduate students the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate substantial understanding of and competence in the current body of knowledge in mainstream Social Psychology. We will cover social psychological theory and research on topics such as social cognition, motivation, attribution, and attraction.
Psy 793A Clinical Psychology
A full time (40hrs/wk) supervised clinical work, including assessment, treatment, consultation, and research. Qualified supervisors are provided by internship sites. This course is to be taken by core clinical students after they have completed all other program requirements with the exception of the final dissertation.
